There have been some emails and comment sin the Forum about people having trouble with the membership application form. Hopefully this note will help people apply successfully.
First: After clicking on "apply for membership" (top right), you should have the following boxes to fill in:
- Email
- Boatname (username)
- Password
- Confirm Password
- Gender
- Why do you want to join
Fill these in, and make sure the Email and Password are correct...
Note that the password must be at least 6 characters long, A bar graph under the password box will help show how "strong" the password is.
Then you must move your mouse, or if using a touch screen, you must touch, inside the box at the bottom where it says "assemble the image you see at the upper right".
When the mouse is "in" this box, a very simple jigsaw puzzle appears and you have to move a few pieces to make the image whole. I imagine that this part is where most people are having difficulty.. However please bear with us as this feature is essential to prevent us being swamped by automatic applications from spam robots. I have checked this form with both mouse and touch-screen (IPad) inputs, and it is really simple to do once you move your mouse into the box, or touch the box, if you are using a touch-screen or tablet.
With the picture assembled, you must tick the "I agree to the Membership Fees and Terms and Conditions"
Then finally, you can click on the "Apply for Membership" box right at the bottom of the form (You may have to scroll down to see this on some screens).
The "jigsaw puzzle" will then change and providing you moved the pieces to make the image correctly, you will get a nice Green Tick in this box when you press the "Apply for Membership" button.
The CCA website then checks all the other details - BUT, if you have anything wrong or missing, a red box will appear telling you what is missing. I'm afraid you will have to correct the input AND do the jigsaw puzzle again before clicking the "Apply for Membership" box again.

One last thing.. the website will send you an automated mail immediately, and you MUST reply to the email before we can approve membership. This ensures that you can get our CCA emails and that they are not lost in your junk or spam folders...So please make sure that you can receive emails from us and that our Emails are not getting put in your "junk" or "spam" email folders.!
