I was speaking to Bill (C-CAT) recently and discussing dinghy davits, and realised we did not have a post that showed options for adding davits on Catalacs.
One of the most innovative davits I have seen were deigned by Peter for Me-and-Er.. these tilt outboard to hold the dinghy away from the stern at the water level, but then swing inwards to bring the tender more on board when lifted. The geometry is hard to describe, but should be obvious when you see the photos!.
I also thought I should add my own "no davit" solution- which is to lift the 2.6M inflatable up onto the rear platform and tie it off. This is nowhere near as elegant as Peters solution, and a lot harder work- plus I would not want to travel in high seas with it this way. But its fine for short trips on nice days!.
