About Us

The Catamaran Cruising Association is an international body of members who either own or have an interest in catamarans.

Our association is owned, run and supported by the members for the benefit of the members and has no commercial or outside interest other than to provided support and advice to its membership. There are no paid officials and any money raised by the members is used solely for the benefit of the members.

Our association has been formed from the former Bob Cat & Catalac Association, which decided in 2008 to branch out and embrace all classes of catamarans.

We are now an internet based organisation, which runs a website that can be accessed worldwide. It is our intention to be able to exchange views, advice, warnings and general help from member to member through our website. Our site includes a number of topics the most interesting of which, is the World map which has the facility to show where your boat is at any one time. Cruising members are able to move their boat around on the map as and when they have access to the internet. Family, friends and other members are able to see where colleagues are simply by looking at the map. Members might like simply to contact others in the area they are visiting.

Members are able to appeal to the membership through the website for ideas, advice or positive help during their travels. Suggestions as to where to obtain the best deals for equipment and services, ideas on handy meals to cook whilst on the water, where best to moor up or be lifted out. The opportunities are endless. We also welcome details of cruising logs and pictures of boats, modifications and places visited so we can share them with our members.

We from time to time organise meet and eat sessions during the non sailing months and rallies during the rest of the year. Unlike most organisations related to sailing, we are not after your money, just your company.
