I finally managed to get a good photo of the optional Inner stay rig support fitting on some of the boats. This arrangement means that the inner stays and the mast pivot are all in a line, so when the mast is lowered, the stays hold the mast from f…
Hi Bill!Congratulations on winning the Bipusseia cup (I had to look it up!) .-I thought there was a "Catalac Trophy", but perhaps it has been renamed?..It certainly would be good to see more Catalacs racing.. and good company..(!) When Scubacat won …
Update: Bob Freeman and Peter Gimson were both at the AGM yesterday, so I asked about master lowering.
There is an excellent set of notes here: (from the Catamaran Site documentation) .
I think this is a copy of the article Bob originally wrote. BU…
Happy Christmas to you!.We also slept on the boat Christmas Eve and Christmas Night, because the house was full. but with a F8 on Boxing Day my daughter and son in law decided that we needed to sleep at home..., so they got hold of a "pump up" bed a…
Good to hear all is going well, Corydoras is on our boat list, but I suspect it has changed hands.. Send me an email if the owners would like to have the email updated..Dagnall
The 750 looks a nice bit of kit! I did some research and it seems that you will need to purchase a new sd card in order to update the internal bluecharts. I found this link

It's good to see the flag moving!
Looks like you are having a good and relaxing time..
We are planning a short trip west in a few days..
All the best

I agree, weather is not exactly encouraging us onto the water!. When we moved house to here, it took about a year to get all the stuff out of boxes!. One thing I can recommend is to pay a moving company to put stuff into boxes.. You may have a bit o…
Looks like about 50% success in posting images!!. Always best to start with 640*480 size images, they are smaller to upload and view. I find Its also easier to type words first then add the photo last..
PS we also have a Solar Catamaran here in Chichester harbour :It is a Swiss made Aquabus C60 that can apparently reach 11 knots while transporting 60 people. However in Chichester Harbour it is only licensed to carry a maximum of 50 passengers and…
That makes a lot of sense. Catalac's (at least my 8m) seem to get easily to about 4 kts, and then need a lot more push to get past 6kts. I did a lot of prop testing with my yamaha 20 Hp when I first got it to try and match the engine to the boat. I …
Very interesting, I think I saw you were running 56V at 20A, or was that just 1/3 of the battery banks? Either way, 4kts on 1kw to 3Kw of engine power looks very efficient. How many kWhr of batteries do you have?
Could you please measure them when convenient, so that we can record the dimensions? I really regretted not taking the exact measurements of my original large genoa when we "upgraded" to new sails...D
Ok.. Now we have some easterlies, we have decided to have a short break... Last night Newtown creek, very crowded... Tonight, pool town quay... even more crowded!
We had a very nice stay for three days at Bucklers Hard, but without any mobile signal I see my update did not actually get posted until just now, when we have come back to Hayling to shelter from the cold and wet!
Off at last, headwinds all the way to Cowes! Max 32kts What happened to the nice sw force 3 that was forecast?
Safely tucked in at the Folly now for a night or two.
