  • I finally managed to get a good photo of the optional Inner stay rig support fitting on some of the boats. This arrangement  means that the inner stays and the mast pivot are all in a line, so when the mast is lowered, the stays hold the mast from f…
  • Thanks for the great photos, looks like you had a good time!
  • Hi Bill!Congratulations on winning the Bipusseia cup (I had to look it up!) .-I thought there was a "Catalac Trophy", but perhaps it has been renamed?..It certainly would be good to see more Catalacs racing.. and good company..(!) When Scubacat won …
  • Update: Bob Freeman and Peter Gimson were both at the AGM yesterday, so I asked about master lowering.  There is an excellent set of notes here: (from the Catamaran Site documentation) . I think this is a copy of the article Bob originally wrote. BU…
  • All well here, just not much sailing going on!
  • Dropbox?
  • Happy Christmas to you!.We also slept on the boat Christmas Eve and Christmas Night, because the house was full. but with a F8 on Boxing Day my daughter and son in law decided that we needed to sleep at home..., so they got hold of a "pump up" bed a…
  • Yes, what an adventure!!
  • Good to hear all is going well, Corydoras is on our boat list, but I suspect it has changed hands.. Send me an email if the owners would like to have the email updated..Dagnall
  • Thanks, at least it works with an ordinary sd card and did not require a special one with the charts installed.. Cheers Dagnall
  • The 750 looks a nice bit of kit! I did some research and it seems that you will need to purchase a new sd card in order to update the internal bluecharts. I found this link http://www.activegps.co.uk/garmin-bluechart-g2-uk-ireland-map-update-card.h…
  • It's good to see the flag moving! Looks like you are having a good and relaxing time.. We are planning a short trip west in a few days.. All the best Dagnall and Cathy
  • Very nice!
  • I agree, weather is not exactly encouraging us onto the water!. When we moved house to here, it took about a year to get all the stuff out of boxes!. One thing I can recommend is to pay a moving company to put stuff into boxes.. You may have a bit o…

  • Looks like about 50% success in posting images!!. Always best to start with 640*480 size images, they are smaller to upload and view. I find Its also easier to type words first then add the photo last..
  • We got your Apologies for Absence, and missed you. Hope you can come next year!Dagnall
  • PS we also have a Solar Catamaran here in Chichester harbour :It is a Swiss made  Aquabus C60  that can apparently reach 11 knots while transporting 60 people. However in Chichester Harbour it is only licensed to carry a maximum of 50 passengers and…
  • That makes a lot of sense. Catalac's (at least my 8m) seem to get easily to about 4 kts, and then need a lot more push to get past 6kts. I did a lot of prop testing with my yamaha 20 Hp when I first got it to try and match the engine to the boat. I …
  • Very interesting, I think I saw you were running 56V at 20A, or was that just 1/3 of the battery banks? Either way, 4kts on 1kw  to 3Kw of engine power looks very efficient. How many kWhr of batteries do you have?
  • Thanks, the link certainly works.. You seem to have had lots to do!.
  • Great pictures, thanks Rumpleteazer and Think again!. Its very nice to look at these sunny shots at a time its cold and damp here!.
  • its raining here... very jealous of you! D
  • Could you please measure them when convenient, so that we can record the dimensions? I really regretted not taking the exact measurements of my original large genoa when we "upgraded" to new sails...D
  • Apart from us having a horizontal windlass, that is exactly where we have ours,
  • Super evening out, and then arrived back at the boat to discover we had best seat in the house for the Poole fireworks!!
  • Ok.. Now we have some easterlies, we have decided to have a short break... Last night Newtown creek, very crowded... Tonight, pool town quay... even more crowded!
  • We had a very nice stay for three days at Bucklers Hard, but without any mobile signal I see my update did not actually get posted until just now, when we have come back to Hayling to shelter from the cold and wet!
  • Nice sail to Bucklers hard.. plan to stay a few days... Looking forward to a few meals at the masterbuilders
  • Off at last, headwinds all the way to Cowes! Max 32kts What happened to the nice sw force 3 that was forecast? Safely tucked in at the Folly now for a night or two.
